Free

Time & Location

When: Jun 22, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Location: James Monroe Museum Courtyard – 908 Charles St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, USA

About the Event

Join us in welcoming Dr. Will Mackintosh Associate Professor of History from UMW to celebrate their first pride month program!

Our past can often seem pretty straight, but people have lived and loved across genders throughout time. This lecture explores the process of finding queer ancestors (including some acquainted with James Monroe); the ways they sought to understand their lives and loves; and how their experiences were both similar to and different from those of queer people today.

Seating will be in the museum courtyard.

Please contact [email protected] for accessibility and other questions.
