When she was dreaming about building her family\, she wrote this poem to honor Pride’s history of resistance and imagined sharing it with her future child one day. It has become a tradition to read it at their annual brunch the day before the Pride March with family and friends. Joanna McClintick lives with her wife and child in Brooklyn.  Juana Medina is the author-illustrator of Juana & Lucas</i>\, which won the 2017 Pura Belpré Author Award; Juana & Lucas: Big Problemas</i>; Juana & Lucas: Muchos Changes</i>; and many other titles and has illustrated numerous picture books\, including Smick! by Doreen Cronin and I’m a Baked Potato! by Elise Primavera. In addition to our MAIN EVENT at Market Square – this year we are partnering with 12 local businesses the day of for downtown FXBGs largest queer community/business collaboration yet! \n  \nFoodE – 3pm-6pm – 30% of proceeds from all sales donated to FXBG PRIDE \nKatora Coffee 4pm-8pm – 10% of proceeds from all sales donated to FXBG PRIDE \nVisit Fredericksburg\, Virginia Visitors Center – 4pm-8pm -FREE Diversity Art show AND bracelet making \nThe Rocking Horse Gallery 8am-4pm – 10% of proceeds from all sales donated to FXBG PRIDE \nCuritiba Art Café  4pm-10pm – FREE evening musical performances (special appearance by Tendersong @7pm) and collaborative community poem book making: What Pride Means to You \nHunan Garden – 4pm-8pm – 5% of proceeds from food sales donated to FXBG PRIDE \nItalian Station– 7AM-10PM – 20% of proceeds from Rainbow Flavored Lemonade donated to FXBG PRIDE \nSammy T’s Restaurant – 4pm-8pm – 10% of all proceeds donated to FXBG PRIDE \nPONSHOP – 11am-7pm- SAY GAY and a portion of proceeds from your purchased is donated to FXBG PRIDE \n  \nOur FREE main event will be at Historic Market Square behind the Fredericksburg Area Museum from 4pm-11pm with live performances\, special guest MC Loo\, drag shows by Beer Babes Drag and Shenandoah\, drinks and a late night GLOW Dance Party hosted by DJ Seth Casana.
